On 6th of February 2023, a powerful earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale hit Antakya, Turkey. The quake caused widespread destruction across the city and its surrounding areas with over 4000 people reported dead and thousands more injured or missing. It was one of the most devastating earthquakes to ever hit Turkey in recent years due to its intensity and location near densely populated cities like Antakya.
All efforts put together helped reduce casualties significantly however it will take months if not years before some parts of cities are restored back into livable conditions again given amount damage done during disaster itself . Despite being difficult time , it is heartening see how people come together help each other through such tragic event which serves reminder us all no matter what happens we can always rely on strength unity when times get tough.
